I can personally attest to this. For six years I was a vegetarian. And I have to say I lost weight, which was great since I was on a strict diet. But it was hard. I would eat a bowl of carrots and a bowl of broccoli. The veggies and the broccoli would have more calories but were less unhealthy than the carrots. If you are a meat-eater, you basically need to eat a lot of veggies and fruit every single day.
