This summer I am trying to connect with my community and myself in a way I haven’t done before. I am trying to live more locally and this means living more locally is not the same as living in a metropolitan area. I’ll share my perspective on this in an upcoming blog post.
Growing up I went to college at a large college in a big city. As much as I wanted to live in a city, I knew that was not an option for me. I was comfortable living in a small town, but I did not want to live in a suburban area.
The Midwest is a region of flat, flat countryside, with a lot of farms. This is a place where you can grow a lot of different kinds of food, and a lot of people are always asking me if I’m vegetarian. It is a place where the majority of our food is grown. For the most part, vegetarian restaurants are not common, but there are a few that are open.
The Midwest has a lot of really great vegetarian restaurants. I love the vegan restaurants that are open, and the ones I go to, Im often the only vegetarian person in a room. One of the best vegetarian restaurants I have ever been to is on a street corner in Kansas City. The owner, a woman named Lissa, makes her own food. When I came in the restaurant, she was frying up her own vegan chili, and I was completely blown away by the taste.
I’ve been to a few vegan restaurants in this area, but I’ve never been to one that makes dishes of their own, so I was stoked to find out what was so special about Lissa’s. It’s all very organic and local, and it’s the best vegan chili I’ve had in a long time.
Lissa, whom I will call Lissa, is one of the most creative and inventive food writers I have ever encountered. Lissa writes about the foods that she eats, from the fresh herbs and spices she uses to cook, to the seasonal vegetables that grow in her garden. She has a very detailed knowledge of her local food in order to create her recipes. Her recipes are delicious, but the best part is the details that she shares about her garden and the vegetables she grows.

I am a big fan of the West Plant-based blog, which does an excellent job of sharing recipes and information about local growers. The blog has a lot of great recipes, but it is a bit lacking in the info on where you can find the food. So when I saw the trailer for connecting with west plantbased, I knew I had to check it out.
The West Plant-based blog is really neat. I love the blog. The posts are easy to navigate, and the posts on this particular blog are a bit more informative and useful than the posts of other blogs I visit.
You could have a blog with a lot of links to other blogs in your area, but that would be far too easy. I think it’s a good idea to give it a try.
